For those of you unfamiliar with the ExitPoints trading strategy, here is a brief overview:

ExitPoints.com is the home to a state-of-the-art futures trading system that uses artificial intelligence techniques to trade the futures markets. Our day trading system trades thirty-one different domestic futures markets from eight different market sectors. This totally-mechanical system is used on all thirty-one of the markets. We use many of the same technical analysis principles used by professional traders with a fully-automated day trading strategy. The expert systems computer program that provides our trade recommendations operates completely without human emotions and this program is intelligent enough to know what to do in every market condition. The entries are based on volatility breakout filtered by proprietary momentum and trend techniques coupled with early exit strategies to preserve equity and limit risk. These are standard technical analysis tools. In fact, the volatility breakout can be a complete trading system all by itself. The volatility breakout system generates numerous trades, but some of the trades are profitable and some are not. The trick is to try to select out those trades that are more likely to result in large profits and avoid taking some of the losing trades. We use several technical analysis tools that can identify likely times for market turns (short-term trend changes). This improves the profit per trade and makes more than enough per trade to pay the slippage and commissions. Another tool I use is to only select those trades that are relatively low in risk. One of the keys to profitable trading is managing risk. The ExitPoints technology also establishes objectives just in case of large quick moves. This is a money management tool that can sometimes provide a means to keep more of your gains.

ExitPoints Day Trading Performance

On October 16, 2011, we updated the ExitPoints system with years of new historical trade data from past trades. This has increased the processing speed and improved the accuracy of the entire system. The results, so far, are in line with the simulation results over the past 10 years. As of this writing, there have been 89 trades since the system update and in real-time trades, (some of them with real money), the gain is $15,646.

Sell short the December 30-Year T-bonds in the morning (8:00 AM ET). The close price was 140`06. Place the stop loss price at 143`13.

Update on the Special Discretionary Trade

New Special discretionary Trade Recommendation

The Japanese yen appears to be a a critical juncture. If the price starts to decline it could easily be a large move down. I suggest placing a STOP order to sell the September Japanese yen future short at 1.2952. If you get a fill, place the stop loss price at 1.3086. If I am wrong and the price rallies you won’t be in the trade.

This morning we closed the short October Sugar at 27.43. The gain on the trade was 3.76 or $4,211. We bought December Soybean Meal this morning at 360.00. For now leave the stop at 332.60.
